What is the “Nebraska +” CCW Class?

As a certified instructor for Nebraska plus Utah, participants in these classes may apply for Permits from both States, substantially increasing the locations they may legally carry.

Successful participants will be able to apply to Nebraska and Utah.  Why Utah? Because when combined with your Nebraska Permit, it will allow legal carrying in the following States in addition to Nebraska: AK, AL, AR, AZ, CO, DE, GA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NM, OH, OK, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WA and WY a total of 30 States....and more are being added!!  See www.handgunlaw.us for current information.

To secure your spot in the class, registration in advance is required.  To register, simply sign up at Seasons Choice Shooting Range.

FAQ:

Who can apply?
In general, people that have been residents of Nebraska for the past 180 days, age 21 or over, that have a valid Nebraska Driver’s License and can pass the requisite background checks are eligible to apply for the Permit.

How long will the class take?
The required curriculum (class and range time) is fairly comprehensive. It is estimated that a typical class will take 6-8 hours to fully complete.

How many can register for a class?
The new law and rules limit attendance to 25 per session.  Spaces are expected to fill quickly, so you may wish to register early to secure your spot. Registrations/walk-ins the day of the class are only accepted if space is available.

What do I need to bring?
Nebraska Driver’s License; Pencil/pen, notebook; handgun suitable for self-defense; eye and ear protection; 60 rounds of commercial factory ammunition (no reloads); the shooting exercise is 30 rounds; the additional 30 is ‘just in case’ you need to do it a second time to pass.  The statute and rules do not specify a minimum caliber...that is up to you. However, the range exercise does include a drawing from concealment, so a gun that can be concealed needs to be factored into your decision making process; a holster (strong side, outside-the-waistband) is suggested, but not required. Note that shoulder holsters or weak side (non-shooting side) holster are NOT permitted in the class.  You should be generally familiar with the handgun you bring; this is not a class in how to shoot your particular handgun,...it is assumed (and required) that you are able to safely manipulate the controls of your chosen handgun.
